Xbox One Resident 7 Biohazard Full Game Walkthrough Review

It seems a rare thing to see a horror game given DLC. Admittedly in recent years both Outlast and Alien: Isolation received incredible content pieces to add to an already fantastic experience, but seeing two DLCs make it only weeks afterwards release is something entirely new. Merely whilst most would surely shame a programmer for releasing something then soon without including information technology in the full release, information technology's off-white to say the days of receiving full content at launch are gone. That said, the first content, Banned Footage Vol.i for Resident Evil vii biohazard was certainly 1 we found to be worth the extra cost, simply with such a great showing first time round, tin can Banned Footage Vol.ii continue to raise the bar?

Post-obit on from the outset content drop, Banned Footage Vol.2 brings two more videos and another fresh game way to the outing. The Banned Footage Vol.ii content is probably best left till you've browbeaten the main game, so if yous're however part fashion through the story and don't desire spoilers to ruin things, I'd advise holding back right now. So without giving abroad too many of the details, permit's get you defenseless up on whether the second content drop is every bit practiced as the first.

The start video comes titled 21, and as with those found in Vol.i, each seem to be rather only named. Given the quality though, information technology's hardly something to complain most.

Once again, y'all are taken away from main protagonist Ethan and put into the shoes of some other of the TV crew from the demo and other videos in the game. This video sees the action and puzzle based settings of previous removed, and instead places you into a rather sick game of Blackjack. It'south non all equally deadening as a card game however, equally Lucas, the infamous Baker son, has y'all trapped in a Saw-esque trap, making winning a must for those who wish to come away with every limb they started with.

Y'all begin with your fingers in a machine trap, a trap that will slice them off if you lose. You can only motility your head in this one, which to play a game of Blackjack is all that'southward actually needed. That said, this video doesn't rely on cunning or wit. In fact, information technology'due south a bit of a shame that it relies on zippo more than luck and a brief understanding of the rules. There are extra rules included; using tokens that give special abilities, picking specific cards, removing your opponent's cards, or even increasing or decreasing the penalty should you lose. Just this only helps to add together to the random nature of the game. There are difficulties which can exist unlocked, but neither are really whatsoever more than taxing than the concluding, just possibly lasting a little longer overall.

The 2d video in Banned Footage Vol.2 is titled Daughters.

Daughters is the reason you'll want to finish the story as information technology contains the story elements you lot'll demand to have followed through first. Placing yous into the shoes of Zoe Baker – finally not a film crew member – it shows you exactly what happened to the Baker family. This video is one that is much needed for the rest of the experience, equally short of finding all documents and reading every page in the main game, you wouldn't really know why the Bakery family are quite as messed up equally they are. Of course, it's nice to be in the shoes of Zoe for this one, but you don't get to find anything new nigh the character this time out as y'all're too decorated trying to escape the business firm.

There are two endings in the Daughters video; a good one showing y'all how she manages to avoid the insane family unit members until you lot arrived, and the bad…and I'll leave that one for you to observe.

During this video you're defenceless again, even more so than the master game. Armed with a lighter to combat the darkness, y'all are left to bollix through the surface area from the outset of Resident Evil 7: biohazard, all whilst the rest of the Baker family are turning into monsters effectually you. In the terminate, it's only really a quick experience given the knowledge y'all'll accept of the house layout past this point, but the experience isn't a bad 1 for information technology. That said, information technology would take been much nicer to learn a bit more than near Zoe, particularly given her relatively pocket-size role in the main showing previously.

And so we have Mercenaries – an most ever nowadays mode to the Resident Evil series. In the recent, more activity inspired entries, Mercenaries has been one of the about popular showings, only this fourth dimension circular Capcom have taken a unlike approach and in doing so accept created something I constantly find myself going back to in an attempt to crush my own scores.

This new game mode is Jack'southward 55th Birthday, and whilst it isn't the Mercenaries mode that everyone has get used as well, it shares several similarities, with the action in this 1 turning into more of an arcade showing. There is the introduction of a timer, which can exist stopped by killing enemies, which in plough unlocks otherwise inaccessible areas. Simply killing those monsters to access those areas requires weapons, all of which take up valuable inventory space that yous are supposed to be filling with diverse foods plant throughout the house – food that Jack wants y'all to have to him. It is his birthday after all.

This mode then is really all nigh gamble and reward. Higher scores will be attainable by taking more than nutrient, in turn unlocking special buffs for things like speed, attack and defence. They will also give the opportunity to get agree of powerful weapons such as the golden crowbar and round saw, which are vital for those harder enemy types. There are various different maps for this game fashion, which along with the variety of enemies and things to detect, make for plenty of replayability and assist bring something a trivial lighter hearted to the horror filled reality of the rest of the game.

Whilst the videos included in Vol.two again offer decent content, they don't quite compare to the first content driblet in the Banned Footage Vol.1 DLC. Information technology's also worth noting that even though both DLCs are available as function of the Season Laissez passer, those buying them separately will detect a £4 price increment for this 1. Given the slightly lacking quality over the outset Banned Footage Volume, that feels rather unjust.

Of grade, this may in plough pose a question mark over the price of the Season Pass, but those who determine to pick information technology up won't be ungrateful for the experience, merely peradventure it's worth waiting for the whole thing to drop a lilliputian in a sale first.
